Influencing Factors of College Student Burnout in Dental Hygiene Students

Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to identify factors that lower school life burnout by identifying the effects of dental hygiene students' major satisfaction, positive psychological capital, and clinical practice stress on school life burnout, and to suggest ways to increase satisfaction with students' school life.

Methods: From August 1 to 30, 2022, 250 dental hygiene students with clinical practice experience were conveniently extracted from among dental hygiene students in Chungcheong, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla regions, and questionnaires were distributed to those who agreed to fill out the data.

Results: Factors influencing school life burnout of students majoring in dental hygiene showed significant relationships in positive psychological capital, major satisfaction, and clinical practice stress, and the explanatory power was 37.5%.

Conclusions: As a result, it seems necessary to develop a psychological education program that can improve major satisfaction and positive psychological capital, reduce clinical practice stress, and reduce school life exhaustion in order to control the factors affecting dental hygiene students' school life exhaustion.
